awake awake o sleepers

this is going to be lengthy. Get some tea.I’m reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin for the second time. and getting much more out of it. Stowe depicts one scene where there are a group of slaves shackled beneath the open deck of a luxury river boat. They’re being transported downsouth to the sugar plantations. Of course, the reader is familiar with the slaves and their individual characters by this point. One of the young white passengers above the deck exclaims to his mother that there are slaves shackled beneath them. the genteel mother remorsefully comments on how sad it is that such an institution takes place in their grand nation. This bothered me very very much. So much. This is what Corey Russell calls drunkenness. If such a scene was to be seen in the streets of -for the sake of being liberal- New York, would it not cause a riot? This made me think about how we are asleep in America. We are apathetic and complacent and our eyes are closed to reality. There is urgency in my spirit. Wake up, wake up! Awake awake o sleepers. Wake us up from our delusional state, God.  Modern, educated christian americans stood in front of public schools and protested integration.  I can’t imagine. It blows my mind. I do not at all understand the evil of humanity. I have been exposed to truth and the depravity of so many people to me is astounding. Our government has a “peoples court.” I know I’m  a baby and don’t know anything. But that is outrageous and just ridiculous. The educational system has failed my parents generation. The slave trade in eurasia, asia, africa, what is the political solution to it? Give me answer if you can. Forcing children into prostitution is illegal. Human traffiking is illegal. Tell me what the solution is if it is not prayer and fasting. And yet we are all too consumed with our relational issues, job issues, comfort, did I mention sex. iyiyi I am young and foolish and know nothing about man.  I am only restating what other have predicted. Wisdom and meekness. I need so much. There is so much corruption and conspiracy. that God will teach my generation, and the generations before and after us to gaze on the beauty of Jesus and the glory of God. A thousand lesser problems resolved. Humanity I do not understand you. None are more hopelessly enslaved, as those who falsely believe they are free….
